Jan 14 - JEM COHEN at Light Industry

Jem Cohen is among the most innovative and inimitable of modern filmmakers. He documents the world around him with an unparalleled expressive attention to rhythm, texture, and atmosphere - which is why his music portraits, such as Instrument (1999), are so vibrant and alive. Tonight at Light Industry, Cohen offers the rare treat of viewing his raw footage - some of which he hasn’t even seen himself! T. Griffin and Catherine McRae will be there to provide live musical accompaniment, and Michael Almereyda (director of 2005’s William Eggelston in the Real World) will hold an on-stage discussion with Cohen following the screening.
